VERÓNICA MONCHO LOBO

Verónica Moncho Lobo hails from Argentina and like so many of the world's prized designers, she now calls London home. She was born and raised in the northwestern city of Salta in Argentina, a city founded in 1582 flanked by colonial and neo-classical architecture, with a healthy measure of museums, theatres and art galleries.

Daughter of a highly artistic mother who provided Verónica with a strong proclivity for the arts, Verónica has always had a deep admiration for couture. She was educated in Salta until she was 15 in classical languages including Latin and Greek, and later English and French. She then moved to Connecticut in America where she perfected her English while focusing her studies on Fine Arts. Following her secondary education, Verónica trained in fashion design at the Parsons School of Design in New York, finishing her degree in 2001. After stints at both Donna Karan and Catherine Malandrino, Verónica moved to Milan where she worked for a startup menswear label and then as part of the creative team for accessories label, Zagliani.

Verónica, together with her brother, Fernando Moncho Lobo, launched her eponymous line in February of 2008, after building a solid following through carefully executed trunk shows. The label is now stocked around the globe and can be purchased in London, New York, Ireland, Istanbul, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the Philippines.

Verónica stands out as a contemporary designer through her choice of bright colours and bold combinations identifying her with her Latin American roots. Her all-dresses ready-to-wear line carries a unique style of simplicity and comfort, ready to be worn for casual daytime elegance or on the red carpet. Her inspiration comes from her journeys around the world, infusing different cultural amalgamations, art and music. She has the ability to combine luxurious fabrics such as chiffon, crepe de chine, duchess satin and organza in one garment, achieving seamless, timeless creations. Both classic and asymmetric cuts are her key design traits. Verónica designs under the principle that women of today are dynamic and independent. In designing 'only dresses,' she aims to simplify a woman's wardrobe.

Since March 2011, Verónica has her own boutique in London's Belgravia on Elizabeth Street neighbouring Erikson Beamon, Jenny Packham and Philip Treacy. Establishing her fashion credentials even further, Verónica decided to launch her signature fragrance "Verónica" during London Fashion Week in September 2011.
